I am a general litigator in civil, criminal and administrative cases. I am a native Peruvian, having immigrated to the United States back in 1989 to pursue my college education. I graduated with a J.D., Law, J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University. Provo, Utah, 1996. My Undergraduate degree was a B.S., Major: Philosophy and Zoology, Minor: Chemistry, Brigham Young University. Provo, Utah, 1993. In Peru I had studied in San Marcos and Cayetano Heredia medical schools. Lima, Peru 1983 – 1989.
I currently work as owner and principal of my own law firm, The Law Offices of Jose A. Loayza (since 2001) Salt Lake City, Utah. Here I am engaged in cases dealing with workers compensation, immigration, personal injury, family law, bankruptcy, contracts and criminal defense an contract disputes. Before working in Utah, I was a Law Clerk at The Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Firm, New York, New York, with practice devoted mainly to personal injury. 2000-2001, and an Associate Attorney with Borland & Borland, Attorneys at Law, Practice devoted mainly to personal injury in Midland, Texas, 1996-1999.
I have been engaged in Community Service as the Founding President of the Utah Latin-American Chamber of Commerce, 2006-2008, and the Founder Peruvian Communitarian Movement, Lima, Peru, 2003. I am married and the father of twin children. I enjoy playing soccer and studying World religions.
